Day Hospital

> The Day Hospital is a department of the Clinical Haematology Unit of Coimbra University Hospital, and it works in coordination with the inpatient and outpatient services.

This department ministers therapeutic care to the patients who need intravenous and/or therapeutic support chemotherapy: blood and/or its derivatives, gamma globulin, eV iron as well as other possibly useful ones, compatible with the semi-ambulatory treatment.

The most currently observed pathologies in this department are:
> Hodgkinís lymphoma;
> Non-Hodgkinís lymphoma;
> Multiple myeloma;
> WaldÎnstromís macroglobulinemia;
> Chronic lymphoid leukaemia;
> Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia;
> Chronic myeloid leukaemia.

The Day Hospital is open on working days from 8.00 to 16.00. This department includes the following teams:

Systematic data on the clinical presentation and laboratory evaluations as well as on the treatment of these disorders in childhood, adolescence but - with the exception of polycythemia vera - also in adults are sparse.
